Prospect to Macarthur Multiple Utility Packages
Building resilient water infrastructure within confined environments
The Prospect South to Macarthur (PROMAC) project is a major Sydney Water initiative, establishing a bi-directional link between the Prospect South and Macarthur Water Distribution Systems. This infrastructure supports water supply for growth across Western Sydney, including the South West Growth Area, Western Sydney Aerotropolis, Liverpool CBD, and Menangle Park.
Kinvara Civil was engaged to deliver 1.5km of OD1067 MSCL pipe installation along residential streets and greenfield sites. The works included excavation, concrete-encased and stabilised sand pipe sections, valve arrangements, air valves, hydrants, and cast-in-situ valve chambers. Additional scope included scour pits, connections to the existing network, and commissioning works such as jetting, CCTV inspection, and pressure testing.
Key challenges included working in confined corridors with existing utilities, requiring complex temporary works and careful access management for welding, encasement, and concrete structures.
